How to Renew Work Permit of Denmark?

If you have a work permit based on the Positive List or a income of min. DKK 375,000 p.a. and you turn out to be unemployed through no mistake of your own, for instance, by being made unneeded, you are still able to stay in Denmark for a period of six months from the date on which your agreement of employment was terminated during which time you can look for new work. This also plies if your contract of service expires.

If you are not roofed by these schemes and turn out to be jobless through no fault of your own, you lose your residence permit but you can submit an application for a new one.

You must submit an application for a new residence permit by means of the Immigration Service no later than the date on which your agreement of employment expires. If you have a provisional contract of employment, your work permit is automatically extended for further six months after your agreement of employment has expired.

When you locate fresh work, you must present a new application on the basis of the new job offer no later than the date on which you initiate your new job. On the other hand, you can surely start working before you have been issued with a permit, providing that you meet the related conditions.
