Language skills:
If you studied in English and can prove it, or you have passed an IELTS test with an overall band score of 6.5 or higher, you will be able to claim 20 points.

Age:
If you are 34 years or younger, you will have 15 points.

WORK EXPERIENCE:
You can claim points for work experience according to how many years, within the last five years, you have worked as a researcher or in a field where Denmark is currently experiencing a shortage of qualified professionals. These fields and specific job titles are available on the positive list. Other areas within the ‘work experience’ field where you can claim points are listed below:
1-2 years within the past five years as a researcher/in field listed on the Positive List: 10 points
3-5 years within the past five years as a researcher/in field listed on the Positive List: 15 points
Again it must be obvious that a major part of you every day job is on the Positive list.
3-5 years within the past five years, other work: 5 points

How to apply?
If you are applying for a residence and work permit under the greencard scheme, you have to complete the GR1 application form. The application form contains a detailed description of how you should complete the form, and which documents you must attach. Your application should be submitted at the VFS centre nearer to you.

Guidelines on Denmark Immigration

There are many good reasons for immigrate and looking for work in Denmark. Primarily, Denmark has an attractive working environment with calm and development-oriented functioning conditions. Danish corporate culture is characterized by a flat structure and an open conversation between management and employees.

Denmark’s most important competition parameter is know-how, which is reflected in both the work facilities and views on employee development. Workplaces attach considerable priority to competence development, and most offer ongoing supplementary training to their employees.

And it doesn’t just make sense to come to Denmark as a worker. Your family will also be offered good conditions here; it is a secure and safe country in which to live, and many foreigners also find there is good balance between family life and work when they come to Denmark. This is largely because the working week is only 37 hours, and because Danish employers generally respect family life.

In Denmark you are able to spend a relatively large amount of time with your family, and there are good possibilities for being professionally challenged artwork.


As a worker, how do I come to Denmark?
As a worker, you can come to Denmark either with or without a specific job offer in your hand. If you have a concrete job offer, you can obtain a work and residence permit if you meet one of the following three conditions:
• The job which you have been offered is included on the so-called Positive List.
• The salary you are being paid is min. DKK375, 000 p.a.
• You have been offered a job for which you are specially qualified.
In some cases, you may be required to first obtain Danish authorization, for example if you are employed as a nurse or doctor.

1. The Positive List:
If you have found work in one of the areas that is currently experiencing a shortage of qualified labor, e.g. as a doctor, IT specialist, engineer, lab technician etc., you will be granted a Danish residence and work permit immediately.
It is a requirement that your pay and contract of employment correspond to Danish standards, and that you have a concrete job offer.

2. Pay limit Scheme:
If you have agreed or been offered employment with an annual salary of min. DKK 375,000, you will also be granted a residence and work permit in Denmark.

Even though you do not have a concrete job offer, it’s still possible to approach to Denmark to look for work. Here, you can be granted a residence permit exclusively on the basis of your qualifications. The residence permits granted following a personal evaluation based on a point system.

The points are awarded consistent with four criteria: Educational level, language skills, work experience and age. Bonus points are granted if you come from an acknowledged university, and if you have trained/qualified within one of the fields/professions included in the Positive list.

The residence and work permit is valid for three years and assumes you can support yourself throughout the entire period of your stay. The residence permit entitles you to both look for and accept work.


Can I study in Denmark?
Denmark is very keen to attract foreign students to the country. If you would like to study at a college of further education etc. in Denmark, you must have been granted a residence permit before your arrival in Denmark. To be granted a residence permit, you must be able to document:
• That you have been enrolled on a course of further education which is approved by a state authority or which is offered by a state approved educational institution.
• That you can support yourself during your stay, or that you have paid tuition fees.
• That you can speak and understand the language used to teach the course, and that you can speak and understand Danish, Swedish, Norwegian, English or German at a reasonable level.
Basically, as a foreign student, you can obtain a residence permit while you complete your studies/training in Denmark and for participating in part of the education/training as a guest student.
If you complete a higher educational programme in Denmark, you can also remain in the country for six months after you have finished your education/training in order to look for work. You will also be granted a permit to work 15 hours a week alongside your studies as well as for full-time work in June, July and August.


Can I bring my family in Denmark?
If you have been granted a residence permit on the basis of the Positive List, pay limit, Green Card scheme or as a student on a higher educational programme, your family can normally accompany you to Denmark. It is a requirement that your family can support itself throughout the entire period, and that you must all live at the same address.

Documentation Requirements For Denmark Green Card

When putting forward your application, you have to attach all appropriate credentials for education (diplomas, transcripts and other statements issued by educational institutions) as color copies.

The original documents have to be presented when put forward your application at the Danish diplomatic mission (embassy or consulate general), at the Immigration Service, or at a police station in Denmark, where an officer will use them to confirm that the color copy is real.

When handing out your application, the Immigration Service might request that you put forward the original educational documents.

Note:
1. Documents not written in Danish, English, German, Norwegian or Swedish have to be submitted together with a certified translation in Danish or English.
2. Educational documents from Pakistan must be embossed by the HEC (Higher Education Commission) in Pakistan.

Attestation of documents for Denmark Green Card

While putting forward your application for a residence permit of Denmark, you will be required to attach your credentials and documents along with your immigration application.

You can either attach original credentials or copies of the original, provided that one of the following has seen the original documents
1. Danish diplomatic mission (embassy or consulate general).
2. The Danish police.
3. Service Centre of the Immigration Service.
and confirms that they have seen the original documents.

Documents which are not in the language of Swedish, Norwegian or German must be supplied with an certified translation to Danish or English.

On the other hand, documents from the following countries must always be originals at the time of submission of the Danish Green Card application:
Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, China, Congo, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Georgia, Ghana, Iraq, Kazakhstan, Kenya, Kyrgyzstan, Liberia, Moldavia, Nigeria, Pakistan, Russia, Rwanda, the Soviet Union, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, and Uzbekistan.

Age Points for Denmark Green Card

You can be awarded points based on your age for Denmark Green Card.

Points of age for Denmark Green Card will be awarded as follows:
Age = 35-40 years: 10 points.
Age = 34 years or younger: 15 points.

A maximum of 15 points may be awarded for your age.

Adaptability Points for Denmark Green Card

You can be awarded points for your educational or work related connection to the EU/EEA (including Denmark) or Switzerland, as this will confirm that you will speedily familiarize yourself to the Danish labor market. Points are given for either work or education.
Points will be awarded as follows:

Group 1:
1. One year's completed study at a higher educational program in an EU/EEA country or Switzerland: 5 points.

Or

2. Three years' completed study at a higher educational program in an EU/EEA country or Switzerland: 10 points.


Group 2:

1. No less than a full year's (12 consecutive months') officially permitted residence and work in an EU/EEA country or Switzerland: 5 points.

Or

2. Minimum two successive year's legal residence and work in an EU/EEA country or Switzerland: 10 points.

Bonus Points:

You will be awarded 5 plus points for Danish language skills (passed examination in Danish Language Test, Level 2 (Prøve i Dansk 2) or higher).

You can be awarded a maximum of 15 points of Denmark Green Card Scheme for your adaptability.

Work experience requirement for Denmark Immigration

You may be awarded a maximum of 15 points for your work experience. Your work experience will be given points in proportion to number of years within the previous five years, you have worked in a field where Denmark is presently experiencing a deficiency of qualified professionals or as a researcher.

Points will be awarded as per following crtitera of experience:

A) 1-2 years within the past five years in field listed on the Positive List or researcher: 10 points.

B) 3-5 years within the past five years in field listed on the Positive List or researcher: 15 points.

C) 3-5 years within the past five years (not an occupation in positive list), other work: 5 points.

Language skills requirement for Denmark Immigration

In order to get Denmark Green Card or Denmark Immigration, you have to prove your language skills in specific languages. Your language ability will be given specific points based on the following languages
1. Danish
2. Swedish
3. Norwegian
4. English
5.German
In order to get points for language skills, you have to prove that you have passed an exam in any of the Danish, English, Swedish, Norwegian or German languages.
You can only receive points for one Scandinavian language (Danish, Swedish and Norwegian) and for also English or German.
So there are two groups of languages required for Danish Immigration
Group 1: Danish, Swedish and Norwegian
Group 2: English and German
You can receive points by choosing one language from group 1 and other language from group 2, for example, English and Swedish, German and Danish and so on. On the other hand, you cannot get points if you choose 2 languages from same group of language for example, Danish and Norwegian, or English and German.

Is there any alternative of language skills test to obtain Denmark Green Card?
As a substitute to a language exam for Denmark Immigration, you can prove your language skills by

1. Obtaining a written statement from your previous employer confirming that you have used Danish, Norwegian, Swedish, English or German on the work for at least one year.

2. By providing documents that you have finished a minimum of one year of studies at a higher educational program which was taught in one of above 5 languages.

You can be given a maximum of 20 points for one language skills and a maximum of 30 points for skills in 2 language.

Educational level requirement for Denmark Green Card

This is the first condition for Danish Green Card Points based system. Following is the step by step detail of educational level for Denmark Green Card

1. After the conversion of your educational qualifications to Danish equivalent, your educational level will be reviewed. This is done because academic degrees differ from country to country, though the degrees are called by the similar name.

2. When you will apply for Denmark Immigration under Green Card, the Immigration Service will ask CIRIUS (which is a Danish organization under the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation) to evaluate your educational level. To permit CIRIUS to do this, you have to include your diplomas, degrees as well as transcripts in your Danish immigration application.

Note: CIRIUS will only evaluate your educational level on the request of the Immigration Service of Denmark in connection with a particular application. Therefore, CIRIUS will not evaluate or assess your educational level earlier to an application for a residence permit in Denmark under the Greencard scheme.


3. With the purpose of receive points under Danish Green Card scheme for educational level, you must have at least the equivalent of a Danish Bachelor’s degree.


4.You will only be given points for one of the following educational levels. Points of education level for Denmark Immigration are given as follows:
  • Bachelor’s degree/Graduated from medium-length education: 30 points.
  • Bachelor's degree previous to one-year Master's degree: 50 points.
  • Master’s degree: 60 points.
  • PhD: 80 points.

5. You will be given extra points if you graduated from a university which is internationally recognized for its far above the ground academic level according to the most recent THES-QS World Ranking. Points will be awarded as follows:

  • Top 400 Universities of the world: 5 points.
  • Top 200 Universities of the world: 10 points.
  • Top 100 Universities of the world: 15 points.

6. You will be given 10 extra bonus points if your education qualifies you to work in an area of expertise where Denmark is presently experiencing a deficiency of qualified professionals. You can find these fields on the Positive List of Denmark Immigration.


7. You may be awarded a maximum of 105 points for your educational level for Denmark Immigration.

The Danish Green Card Scheme
