Language skills requirement for Denmark Immigration

In order to get Denmark Green Card or Denmark Immigration, you have to prove your language skills in specific languages. Your language ability will be given specific points based on the following languages
1. Danish
2. Swedish
3. Norwegian
4. English
In order to get points for language skills, you have to prove that you have passed an exam in any of the Danish, English, Swedish, Norwegian or German languages.
You can only receive points for one Scandinavian language (Danish, Swedish and Norwegian) and for also English or German.
So there are two groups of languages required for Danish Immigration
Group 1: Danish, Swedish and Norwegian
Group 2: English and German
You can receive points by choosing one language from group 1 and other language from group 2, for example, English and Swedish, German and Danish and so on. On the other hand, you cannot get points if you choose 2 languages from same group of language for example, Danish and Norwegian, or English and German.

Is there any alternative of language skills test to obtain Denmark Green Card?
As a substitute to a language exam for Denmark Immigration, you can prove your language skills by

1. Obtaining a written statement from your previous employer confirming that you have used Danish, Norwegian, Swedish, English or German on the work for at least one year.

2. By providing documents that you have finished a minimum of one year of studies at a higher educational program which was taught in one of above 5 languages.

You can be given a maximum of 20 points for one language skills and a maximum of 30 points for skills in 2 language.

Fee for Denmark Visa from India

Denmark applies the standardized Schengen Visa fee that total to Indian Rupees INR 3,900. The fee is to be submitted as a bank draft in Indian Rupee INR in favor of “Royal Danish Embassy New Delhi”.

The fee applies to the following visas of Denmark:
  • Short-stay visas up to 90 days
  • National Long Stay Visa
  • Airport transit visas
  • Transit visas
  • Multi-entry visas valid for 1 year
  • Visa with limited territorial validity

Denmark Visa fee from India for Residence or Work Permit of Denmark:

The fee for work permit visa or residence visa of Denmark amounts to Indian Rupees INR 8,650. The fees have to be paid as a bank draft of Indian Rupees INR in favor of “Royal Danish Embassy New Delhi”

Please note that the Denmark visa fee is non-refundable.

In addition to this fee, a managing fee of Indian Rupee INR 1100/- shall be charged for applications of all visa types and for a work permit or residence application.

Educational level requirement for Denmark Green Card

This is the first condition for Danish Green Card Points based system. Following is the step by step detail of educational level for Denmark Green Card

1. After the conversion of your educational qualifications to Danish equivalent, your educational level will be reviewed. This is done because academic degrees differ from country to country, though the degrees are called by the similar name.

2. When you will apply for Denmark Immigration under Green Card, the Immigration Service will ask CIRIUS (which is a Danish organization under the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation) to evaluate your educational level. To permit CIRIUS to do this, you have to include your diplomas, degrees as well as transcripts in your Danish immigration application.

Note: CIRIUS will only evaluate your educational level on the request of the Immigration Service of Denmark in connection with a particular application. Therefore, CIRIUS will not evaluate or assess your educational level earlier to an application for a residence permit in Denmark under the Greencard scheme.

3. With the purpose of receive points under Danish Green Card scheme for educational level, you must have at least the equivalent of a Danish Bachelor’s degree.

4.You will only be given points for one of the following educational levels. Points of education level for Denmark Immigration are given as follows:
  • Bachelor’s degree/Graduated from medium-length education: 30 points.
  • Bachelor's degree previous to one-year Master's degree: 50 points.
  • Master’s degree: 60 points.
  • PhD: 80 points.

5. You will be given extra points if you graduated from a university which is internationally recognized for its far above the ground academic level according to the most recent THES-QS World Ranking. Points will be awarded as follows:

  • Top 400 Universities of the world: 5 points.
  • Top 200 Universities of the world: 10 points.
  • Top 100 Universities of the world: 15 points.

6. You will be given 10 extra bonus points if your education qualifies you to work in an area of expertise where Denmark is presently experiencing a deficiency of qualified professionals. You can find these fields on the Positive List of Denmark Immigration.

7. You may be awarded a maximum of 105 points for your educational level for Denmark Immigration.

The Denmark Green Card
